Job Title: Bookkeeper – Construction Industry Location: Orlando, FL Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with a strong background in the construction industry to join a reputable and growing company in the Orlando area. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing full-cycle bookkeeping with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day accounting functions including A/P, A/R, and bank reconciliations

Maintain the general ledger and produce accurate financial reports

Handle job costing and allocation of expenses to specific projects

Reconcile credit card and bank statements monthly

Prepare and submit sales tax filings

Assist with payroll processing and certified payroll reporting

Track subcontractor payments and ensure compliance with lien waivers and 1099 reporting

Support project managers with budget tracking and reporting

Collaborate with external CPA for year-end financials
Qualifications:
-
3+ years of bookkeeping experience in the construction industry required

Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and Excel

Strong understanding of job costing, progress billing, and WIP reports

Familiarity with AIA billing and construction contracts a plus

High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills

Excellent communication and time management abilities
Preferred Experience:

Experience working with subcontractors and lien releases

Prior exposure to construction accounting software (e.g., Procore, Sage 100 Contractor, Foundation, Buildertrend)
