We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accounts Payable Lead to join our team in Jacksonville, FL.


Position Summary

The Senior Accounts Payable Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, managing vendor relationships, and leading a team of accounts payable professionals. This role requires strong leadership, advanced technical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the accounts payable team, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.

  • Oversee daily AP operations including invoice processing, expense reimbursements, check runs, ACH payments, and vendor communications.

  • Ensure accurate coding and timely posting of invoices in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

  • Manage month-end close activities related to accounts payable, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.

  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.

  • Review and resolve complex AP issues, discrepancies, and escalated vendor inquiries.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Finance, and Internal Audit.

  • Assist with audits and support compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare and analyze key performance metrics and reports for leadership.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including supervisory or lead responsibilities.

  • Experience working in a large corporate, multi-entity environment is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and best practices.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Leadership & Communication

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performance team.

  • Clear, professional communication skills with internal stakeholders and vendors.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
