Maintenance Technician

A manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a temp-to-perm opportunity on first shift. This role is focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment to support safe and efficient production operations.

Compensation: $30 to $34 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Work Model: On-site
Employment Type: Temp-to-perm

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician will support daily plant operations by setting up equipment, performing repairs, completing preventive maintenance, and helping maintain critical spare parts inventory. This role requires hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and the ability to respond to off-hours or emergency maintenance needs when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on plant machinery and systems
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across production equipment and facility systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and controls-related issues
  • Order replacement parts and maintain repair parts inventory
  • Repair leaks and support upkeep of air, water, and related utility systems
  • Install and maintain equipment safety devices
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints
  • Support equipment reliability and uptime while following all safety and quality procedures
  • Participate in standby assignments, scheduled off-hours work, and emergency overtime as needed

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong maintenance experience on manufacturing equipment
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical prints
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs
  • Willingness to attend training sessions as needed
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in an industrial environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-year technical school degree
  • Experience with:
    • Air systems
    • Water systems
    • Air compressors
    • Chilled water systems
    • Pumps and valve rebuilds
    • Shaft alignment, bearing installation, and setting clearances
    • Relay logic troubleshooting and repair
    • Instrumentation calibration and repair
    • Variable frequency drive troubleshooting, replacement, and programming
    • Computer-controlled manufacturing equipment
    • Powder conveying systems

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform heavy physical work in potentially hazardous conditions
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, forklifts, platform lifts, and other equipment
  • Ability to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds, with heavier lifting supported by proper equipment
  • Ability to read printed materials and work from a computer screen
