Senior Staff Accountant (RFACC)

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This senior-level individual contributor role is responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong technical accounting background with the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  • Manage the full month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and consolidations
  • Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and classified
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS (if applicable), and internal accounting policies
  • Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations prepared by junior accountants
  • Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and lease accounting (ASC 842)
  • Handle complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), inventory, or intercompany transactions
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making
  • Assist with tax provision calculations and coordinate with external tax advisors
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Staff Accountants and Accounting Specialists

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required); CPA preferred
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, index/match, etc.)
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar) – [specify your system if applicable]
  • Solid understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance (a plus)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
