Accounting Clerk – Summary

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting daily financial operations by processing transactions such as invoices, payments, and payroll entries. This role maintains accurate accounting records, verifies financial data, and assists with reconciliations and reporting using accounting software (Acumatica).

Key duties include managing ledgers, reconciling accounts, verifying invoices, investigating discrepancies, and preparing bank deposits. The position also provides clerical and customer support, including handling account statements and responding to inquiries. Additional responsibilities may include light collections and maintaining secure funds.

The role requires strong attention to detail, basic math and accounting skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Candidates should be organized, able to work independently, and communicate effectively with internal teams and external contacts.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of bookkeeping experience (or equivalent education)
  • Basic accounting and math skills (percentages, decimals, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to use a 10-key calculator efficiently
  • Valid driver’s license

Work Environment:
Primarily an office setting with moderate noise. Requires sitting, some standing/walking, and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs).

Hours: 8am- 3:30pm.
