Senior Financial Accountant (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Bronx, NY (100% onsite)
Address: 2910 Exterior Street, 1st Floor, Bronx, NY 10463
Hours: 35 hrs/week (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Rate: $40/hr
Conversion Salary: Up to $90K
A growing healthcare nonprofit in the Bronx is expanding its finance team and has opened a new opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant. This role reports directly to the VP of Finance and is a great chance to join a mission-driven organization during an exciting period of growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage financial reporting across multiple programs and funding sources
- Perform expense and cost allocation in compliance with grant requirements
- Conduct forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Review and verify expenses; investigate discrepancies
- Prepare detailed financial and grant reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Support audit processes and ensure compliance
- Partner with program managers and vendors on financial data and claims
- Utilize Excel for data analysis, reporting, and tracking
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of financial accounting experience (no AR/AP)
- Strong understanding of balance sheets, debits, and credits
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, data manipulation)
- Experience with financial reporting across multiple programs/funding sources
Nice-to-Have:
- Healthcare industry experience
- Experience with Sage Intacct
