Accounts Receivable Specialist / Bookkeeper

Location: Garden City, NY (4 days onsite, 1 day WFH)
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000

A well-established, family-owned real estate firm is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist / Bookkeeper to join its close-knit accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for long-term stability within a collaborative environment that values tenure and growth.

This role is ideal for a candidate with real estate/property management experience who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and taking ownership of both AR and general accounting functions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle accounts receivable including cash applications, billing, and collections
  • Handle tenant accounts, lease tracking, and security deposit reconciliations
  • Assist with accounts payable and vendor invoice processing
  • Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, and support month-end close
  • Perform CAM reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
  • Generate reports and assist with financial analysis using Excel
  • Partner with internal teams, tenants, and vendors in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in real estate/property management accounting required
  • Strong accounts receivable experience with exposure to AP and general bookkeeping
  • Experience working in high-volume portfolios (100+ properties preferred)
  • Proficiency with Yardi (Yardi Breeze preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, reporting)
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable wearing multiple hats
  • Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
