Medical Malpractice Paralegal (Onsite – Downtown Miami, FL)
Location: Downtown Miami, Florida (Onsite) Position Type: Full-Time Experience Required: 5+ years
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join a growing legal team in downtown Miami. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment and has a strong background supporting medical malpractice cases from inception through trial.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in all phases of medical malpractice litigation, including pre-suit investigation, discovery, trial preparation, and post-trial activities
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence
- Coordinate and manage medical records retrieval, review, and organization
- Summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, and expert reports
- Assist with expert witness coordination, including scheduling, file preparation, and communication
- Maintain case files, calendars, and critical deadlines to ensure compliance with Florida court rules and procedures
- Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and assist with trial logistics and support
- Communicate with clients, medical providers, and opposing counsel professionally and effectively
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a strong emphasis on medical malpractice or personal injury litigation
- In-depth knowledge of Florida civil litigation procedures and court systems
- Experience handling complex medical records and terminology
- Strong drafting, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with attorneys and staff
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
- Paralegal certification (preferred, but not required)
