A well-established nonprofit organization in NYC is hiring a Payroll Accountant for a newly created role due to continued growth. This is a remote position with occasional in-office visits (4-5 times per year) to NYC offices as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain the Labor Distribution Report (LDR), ensuring labor allocation accuracy
• Reconcile the LDR against the general ledger and HRIS system records
• Advise operations staff on processing staff allocation changes to ensure accurate, timely updates
• Support the payroll team with bi-weekly exception analysis
• Maintain journal entries for labor allocation changes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience with hands-on account analysis
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Strong interpersonal and time-management skills
• Nonprofit accounting experience required
