HIRING: Accounting Manager | Jacksonville, FL, 32210

We’re partnering with a nonprofit organization seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager who can step in, solve accounting issues, improve processes, and make an immediate impact.

This is NOT a role for someone who wants to manage from a distance. We’re looking for a technically strong accountant who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working across AR, AP, reconciliations, GL, and month-end close.

💼 What you’ll be doing:

• Reconcile customer accounts from invoice → payment → outstanding balance

• Research cash application, unapplied payments & discrepancies

• Support AR and collection efforts

• Oversee and support the full AP process

• Prepare journal entries, accruals & account reconciliations

• Play a hands-on role in month-end close

• Identify root causes of accounting issues and improve processes

• Strengthen internal controls and accounting workflows

• Train, coach & develop an AP Specialist

• Serve as a key resource for Sage Intacct

• Explore practical ways to leverage technology & AI to improve efficiency

⭐ What we’re looking for:

✔️ Strong Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant experience

✔️ Recent, hands-on Sage Intacct experience — REQUIRED

✔️ Strong AR experience, including reconciliations & cash application

✔️ Solid AP, GL & month-end close experience

✔️ Advanced Excel skills — VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, IF/IFERROR, complex formulas & data analysis

✔️ Experience troubleshooting accounting issues independently

✔️ Leadership, training & process improvement experience

Nonprofit accounting experience is a PLUS, but strong technical accounting skills are more important.
