Our client is an exciting CPG company building out their US operations. They are seeking an Assistant Controller to join the team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in accounting within the CPG and/or food industry, particularly with QuickBooks. This role will be crucial in managing and overseeing accounting operations as they expand their presence in the US market.

Requirements:

• Experience with QuickBooks
• Strong understanding of CPG, ideally food
• Inventory management
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups)
• Familiarity with international sales, including sales tax, GST, and transfer pricing
• Experience managing month-end closing and journal entries

Responsibilities:

• QuickBooks management and oversee the bookkeeper based in Florida
• Manage inventory accounting and ensure accurate tracking of goods
• Handle month-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Work closely with banks and manage banking relationships
• Support the CFO based in South Africa with financial reporting and analysis
• Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations in the US and Canada (GST)
• Assist in transfer pricing and managing international sales
• Collaborate with the logistics team in Florida and the commercial team in Boston
• Produce financial reports and provide insights for strategic decision-making
