Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) Specialist

A very successful Real Estate Development company is seeking an AP/AR Specialist to oversee the day-to-day management of its Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position reports directly to the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all AP and AR workflow transactions and respond to internal and external inquiries.

  • Assist with the processing, coding, and research of utility invoices for both stabilized and new construction properties, including billing adjustments to resident accounts.

  • Monitor invoice approval status to ensure timely payments.

  • Prepare and process weekly check runs, verify printing accuracy, and reconcile check and remittance details.

  • Resolve payment discrepancies with vendors and ensure accurate application of credit memos.

  • Maintain vendor documentation, including certificates of insurance, lien waivers, and W-9 forms.

  • Perform journal entries and maintain the general journal.

  • Reconcile AP and AR transactions and complete regular bank reconciliations.

  • Compile and prepare monthly financial summaries and assist with ad hoc financial reporting.

  • Support financial data analysis and statistical reporting as needed.

  • Participate in continuous improvement of accounting procedures and support other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • +3 years of accounting experience required.

  • Associate degree or relevant accounting certification preferred.

  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.

  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial reporting tools.

  • Experience with filing and record keeping.

  • Hands-on experience with YARDI is Required.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
