A community-based nonprofit organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team! This is a hybrid position in Brooklyn with an annual salary of up to $120,000.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Prior experience in the nonprofit sector
• Strong background in general ledger and bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and month/year-end close
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Yardi is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Conduct reconciliations for general ledger and bank accounts, along with monthly account analyses to ensure financial accuracy.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparation for audits and regulatory reporting.
• Manage accounts payable by processing invoices, issuing vendor payments, and ensuring correct expense coding.
• Help maintain precise financial documentation in alignment with GAAP standards and internal controls.
• Partner with operations and program staff to facilitate financial recordkeeping and respond to audit-related inquiries.
