📍 Location: On-site, North Carolina office 🕓 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. 💼 Status: Full-time, Non-exempt
Ascendo Resources is partnering with a well-established North Carolina law firm client that is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to support a team of litigation attorneys in their Raleigh office. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional who thrives on managing multiple priorities, maintaining accuracy under pressure, and ensuring attorneys have the administrative support they need to serve clients effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and organize new case files, including conflict checks and sub-file setup.
- Maintain case management systems and organize documents for easy access and tracking.
- Prepare, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and discovery materials with quick turnaround.
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, mediations, and hearings, and coordinate logistics such as conference rooms and court reporters.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, phone calls, and client communications with professionalism and discretion.
- Assist in document filing with courts and administrative agencies; manage scanned and electronic records.
- Prepare meeting materials, deposition binders, and discovery productions.
- Support billing functions, including processing invoices, expense requests, and case closures.
- Provide administrative support to multiple attorneys while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of administrative experience in a law firm, preferably with litigation support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong typing skills with high accuracy.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities.
- Familiarity with NetDocuments or similar document management systems preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.
- Exceptional time management, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated discretion with confidential information.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
