Location: Fort Lauderdale Office
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Compensation: Starting at $50,000+, commensurate with experience
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

About the Role
A Florida-based business law firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Word Processor to join its Fort Lauderdale office. This individual will support various legal practice areas by preparing and formatting high-quality documents with accuracy and professionalism. The ideal candidate will bring a strong commitment to confidentiality, client service, and collaboration within a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities

Accurately prepare legal and business documents from written drafts and dictation

Format and edit documents using Microsoft Word and other document tools

Proofread content for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors

Create, edit, and manage document templates, tables, and styles

Utilize DocsPDF for redlining and version control

Save and print files in accordance with firm procedures

Maintain version control and ensure consistency across documents

Support attorneys and staff with document-related needs as assigned
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a word processor in a law firm setting

Proficient in Microsoft Word and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications

Strong knowledge of legal formatting, redlining, and document comparison tools

Ability to type at least 50 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy

Excellent grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through

Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality and customer service
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Primarily a sedentary role; prolonged periods of sitting at a desk

Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally
