We are seeking a detail-focused Payroll Specialist to join our team in a hybrid capacity, working from our Lewisville office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). This position plays a key role in the accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple tax entities and locations. Ideal candidates will bring experience in end-to-end payroll operations, with a strong understanding of wage laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance. Familiarity with Lawson software is a plus, though not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete payroll process across various pay cycles and business entities.
- Enter, verify, and maintain data related to time worked, earnings, deductions, benefits, taxes, garnishments, and other payroll inputs.
- Prepare payroll batches for submission, ensuring on-time and accurate transmission to the payroll processing partner.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements, ensuring employee records are set up with the correct tax jurisdictions.
- Administer deductions including child support, tax levies, and wage garnishments in accordance with legal guidelines.
- Support interdepartmental transfers and ensure payroll and tax records reflect any changes in employment status or location.
- Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and management, delivering timely and professional responses.
- Escalate complex issues or discrepancies to the Payroll Supervisor for resolution.
- Perform regular audits in collaboration with the payroll agent to verify data accuracy and integrity.
- Assist with other payroll and HR-related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with full-cycle payroll processing; multi-state payroll experience preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance standards.
- Prior experience using payroll systems; experience with Lawson is highly desirable but not required.
