Job Summary: The Housing Navigator plays a key role in supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability. This position focuses on identifying appropriate housing opportunities, assisting with the application process, and providing support services to help clients obtain and maintain permanent housing.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct intake assessments to identify clients' housing needs, preferences, and barriers.

Develop individualized housing plans in collaboration with clients.

Research and identify available housing options, including market-rate, subsidized, and supportive housing.

Build and maintain relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing agencies.

Assist clients with completing housing applications, obtaining necessary documentation (e.g., ID, income verification), and attending housing appointments.

Provide housing search education, including tenant rights/responsibilities and budgeting for rent/utilities.

Collaborate with case managers and other service providers to coordinate supportive services.

Advocate for clients with landlords and housing authorities to help overcome barriers such as poor credit, eviction history, or criminal records.

Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in client tracking systems.

Monitor housing stability and provide follow-up support as needed.
Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field (or equivalent experience).

At least 1–2 years of experience in housing navigation, case management, or related services.

Knowledge of local housing market, fair housing laws, and available housing resources.

Strong interpersonal and advocacy skills.

Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.

Proficiency in client database systems and Microsoft Office.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
