Residential Underwriter – Terrific Firm, Role and Benefits
Join a very well-established banking client of ours who needs an experienced Residential Underwriting rockstar ASAP!
Our client is seeking an experienced (4+ years) Residential Underwriter to join their large and active banking team in Miami. The Residential Underwriter prepares credit analyses and underwrites Residential Mortgage loans, as outlined below.
Responsibilities
- Review Tax Returns and other financial docs in order to evaluate the viability of the credit requests.
- Prepare credit underwriting reports which identify and mitigate risk, identify sources of repayment, and conduct sensitivity analyses.
- Pull credit reports, OFAC and background checks to evaluate and examinate credit references for consistency with information provided.
- Analyze borrower's income and business operations and financial condition to determine their ability to repay loans.
- Request specific information, and discuss or resolve issues pertaining to borrowers' financial condition and credit risk.
- Confer with Operations Manager in order to resolve issues with applications.
- Perform credit underwriting and assess credit risk in accordance with the bank's Credit Policu, and issue recommendations about credit proposals.
- Participate in special projects related to the bank's residential loan portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of recent residential underwriting experience.
- Full knowledge and understanding of banking policies, procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements, including but not imited to: BSA/AML, CDD, EDD and others.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Strong understanding of residential lending processes, compliance, and documentation.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
