Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for supporting physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals by performing administrative and clinical tasks to ensure efficient patient care and office operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

• Take and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.)

• Prepare patients for examination and assist during exams

• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens

• Administer injections or medications as directed by the physician

• Perform basic lab tests and sterilize medical instruments

• Conduct EKGs, phlebotomy, and wound care (if trained)

• Maintain exam room cleanliness and restock supplies

Administrative Duties:

• Schedule patient appointments and manage the calendar

• Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries

• Update and file patient medical records accurately

• Process billing and insurance claims

• Verify patient insurance and handle authorizations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

• Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) strongly preferred

• CPR/BLS certification required

• 1+ year of experience in a healthcare setting is a plus
