Job Title: Data Center Construction – Project Manager
Compensation: $120K – $165K 
Location: Richmond, VA


About the Role:

Are you ready to take the next step in your career as a Project Manager in the Data Center Construction industry? This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team in managing large-scale, complex infrastructure projects from start to finish. You'll be responsible for overseeing estimating, budgeting, project execution, billing, and collections, while also mentoring and developing your team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company, client, and project-specific policies

  • Promote and enforce safety practices on all job sites

  • Develop estimates and review project proposals

  • Define project timelines, budgets, and resource plans

  • Supervise execution to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget

  • Build strong relationships with clients and ensure expectations are met or exceeded

  • Coordinate the activities of internal staff and subcontractors

  • Manage vendor relationships to secure timely delivery of materials and services

  • Lead proactive billing efforts and oversee collections

  • Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress and resolve issues

  • Forecast financial direction and course-correct as needed

  • Develop project scopes, budgets, RFPs, and Change Management documentation

  • Provide detailed updates and reports to senior management

  • Support workforce planning for labor and materials

  • Mentor junior staff and foster their growth and development


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Electrical Construction Project Management

  • 1+ years of experience with IT/Telecom infrastructure builds, including Data Centers

  • Knowledge of Data Center electrical distribution, cabling, and white space fit-outs

  • Experience with retrofits in operational facilities and critical facility systems

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Proficient with scheduling, delegation, and time management

  • Strong computer skills and adaptability with new systems

  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Mission Critical Projects

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field – or a comparable combination of experience, certifications, and/or education (e.g., journeyman or master electrician license)

  • PMP or PMI-SP Certification

  • Experience with Google Suite, Salesforce, and ConEst
