Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Officer / Buyer. This role is responsible for researching, sourcing, and purchasing goods and services in alignment with company objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage vendor relationships while ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the purchasing process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct product research and identify new suppliers and vendors.
  • Source materials, products, and services while negotiating cost-effective contracts.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Raise and manage Purchase Orders in accordance with internal procurement policies.
  • Ensure timely order acknowledgment and accurate delivery coordination.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of orders, vendor details, and product databases.
  • Work closely with finance and warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies in invoices, deliveries, and goods received.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse staff to track order statuses and delivery timelines.
  • Stay informed on industry trends through trade shows, exhibitions, and supplier visits.
  • Drive continuous improvement in purchasing processes, supplier alternatives, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support procurement operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of purchasing principles and procurement best practices.
  • Experience using purchasing systems or procurement software (preferred).
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills related to purchasing and inventory.
  • Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Committed to ethical procurement practices and professional integrity.
  • Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
