Job Title: Accounts Payable Analyst
Location: Midtown, Manhattan (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Type: Temporary (Holiday/Maternity Coverage + Temp-to-Perm Opportunity Available)
Start Date: Early November
Compensation: $28/hour + Benefits through Ascendo
Time Off: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day
Position Overview
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst to support a fast-paced, high-volume AP department within a growing organization. This role will handle end-to-end invoice processing, vendor communication, and reconciliations. Ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working cross-functionally with finance and operations.
Responsibilities
- Process up to 200 invoices weekly, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and system accuracy.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies through proactive communication.
- Manage vendor correspondence and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
- Support system and software integrations, including AP automation improvements.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and AP aging reporting.
- Verify payment documentation and support Treasury/Finance in weekly cash requirement summaries.
- Assist with audit requests, 1099 reporting, and ad-hoc accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- 1+ year of Accounts Payable or accounting experience
- Strong experience handling high-volume AP (invoice processing + reconciliations)
- Advanced Excel skills — Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP are required
- Excellent communication skills for vendor and internal team interaction
- Ability to work onsite full time
Preferred
- Experience using SAP and/or QuickBooks (training available for motivated candidates)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to work overtime during peak seasons
