Job Title: Junior Accountant

Job Summary:
Growing and dynamic hospitality group (portfolio of luxury hotels & restaurants) is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join its Accounting & Finance team as soon as possible. The Junior Accountant will help support the day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the financial operations of a growing portfolio of properties. This is an entry-level position that will report directly to the Director of Accounting.
This position is a fully in-office (5 days/week) position based in the company’s headquarters located in Brickell, Miami. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of post-graduate experience. Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and posting journal entries for daily, weekly, and monthly transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
- Process accounts payable invoices and assist with payment runs.
- Support accounts receivable by tracking invoices and following up on payments.
- Help prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Maintain accurate records for inventory, cost of goods sold, and other hospitality-specific expenses.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for individual properties or venues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and relevant regulations.
- Provide support during audits by organizing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve financial workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (required)
- 1-3 years of accounting experience; internships or experience in hospitality a plus.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or M3) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of hospitality-specific accounting (e.g., food and beverage costs, occupancy metrics) is a plus.
- Bilingual Spanish a plus
