About the Role
Ascendo Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting operations within a dynamic, project-driven corporate environment. This role will play a key part in ensuring accuracy across revenue recognition, job costing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with recent NetSuite experience and a strong command of project accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee full-cycle general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.

Develop and maintain revenue recognition, deferred revenue, WIP, and cost of goods schedules.

Perform inventory and job costing accounting for project-based operations (e.g., sprinkler installations).

Manage milestone billing, project-based revenue timing, and expense tracking.

Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions: entering invoices, processing payments, issuing checks, and overseeing collections.

Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports.

Leverage advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs) for reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of full-cycle general ledger accounting experience.

Recent NetSuite experience (within the last 12 months) required.

Proven knowledge of revenue recognition, WIP, cost accounting, and job costing.

Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs).

Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, team-oriented environment.
Must-Haves

Recent, hands-on NetSuite experience.

3+ years of general ledger and month-end close experience.

Strong working knowledge of revenue recognition, WIP, and COGS accounting.

Practical AP/AR experience, including milestone billing and collections.

Advanced Excel expertise for financial analysis and reconciliation.
