Tax Accountant – Coral Gables, FL

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to join our team in Coral Gables. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about tax compliance and strategic tax planning. The Tax Accountant will play a key role in preparing and reviewing tax filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and supporting broader finance and accounting functions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions (ASC 740).

  • Conduct tax research and analysis on a variety of tax issues.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.

  • Identify and implement tax-saving strategies and process improvements.

  • Maintain and organize tax records and documentation.

  • Support audits and liaise with external auditors or tax authorities.

  • Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the organization or clients.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation is a plus).

  • CPA certification (or in progress) strongly preferred.

  • 2–5 years of tax accounting experience, ideally in public accounting or a corporate tax department.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. tax codes and regulations.

  • Experience with tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystem fx, CCH, or UltraTax).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks or ERP systems is a plus.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred due to client base in South Florida.
