Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Salary Range: $165,000–$214,500 annually
Status: Full-time

A leading international law firm is seeking a highly skilled Practice Manager to support its Investigations, White Collar, and Antitrust practice groups in Washington, DC. This role is ideal for a former attorney or experienced legal professional with strong business operations and practice management experience, particularly in complex regulatory or litigation settings.

Overview

The Practice Manager will act as a strategic partner to practice group leadership, focusing on the business operations of the group rather than the delivery of legal services. The role will manage staffing, workflow, financial analysis, and execution of strategic initiatives to ensure optimal performance and support of attorneys and firm goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with practice leaders to execute strategic plans and improve business outcomes.

  • Analyze financial and performance metrics; identify trends and provide actionable insights.

  • Oversee workload allocation, resource planning, and performance tracking for attorneys.

  • Support operational functions including budgeting, billing, onboarding, and internal communications.

  • Serve as a liaison between practice groups and business operations departments (Finance, Talent, BD, Innovation, IT).

  • Contribute to client engagement initiatives to improve service delivery and efficiency.

  • Assist with planning practice group meetings, retreats, and strategic communications.

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts across operations and internal processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years in legal practice or law firm business operations with direct experience in practice management.

  • Experience supporting Investigations, White Collar, Antitrust, or regulatory groups preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree required; JD or MBA preferred.

  • Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and experience interpreting financial data.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-performance environment.

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and project management skills.

  • High level of professionalism and ability to collaborate across leadership levels.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is $165,000 to $214,500 annually, depending on experience. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
