The accounting team plays a critical role in supporting program delivery through sound financial management and grant compliance.

ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Grant Accountant to join the finance team on a temp-to-perm basis. This position supports full-cycle general ledger accounting, grants management, and year-end audit preparation. The ideal candidate brings proven nonprofit accounting experience and is comfortable working independently through monthly and year-end close cycles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage full-cycle GL accounting, including cash bookings, accruals, and journal entries
  • Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and post revenue entries; ensure proper classification between admin and program-related revenue
  • Oversee grant billings and ensure compliance with contract terms
  • Review spend vs. budget; resolve discrepancies and recognize revenue appropriately
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close
  • Contribute to audit preparation and respond to audit requests
  • Support the Controller as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with reconciliation and preparing audit schedules
  • Strong GL accounting background
  • Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage close independently with minimal supervision
