Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Immigration Attorney with 2+ years of experience in U.S. immigration law to join our growing legal team in Coral Gables, Florida. The ideal candidate is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, possesses strong legal research and advocacy skills, and is passionate about helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate complex immigration matters.
This position requires working onsite and collaborating directly with clients, paralegals, and support staff to provide exceptional legal representation and client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of immigration matters from intake through resolution.
- Represent clients before USCIS, EOIR Immigration Courts, ICE, and other government agencies.
- Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, motions, appeals, and supporting documentation.
- Conduct client consultations and provide strategic legal advice regarding immigration options and case developments.
- Draft legal briefs, declarations, affidavits, responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), and other legal documents.
- Appear at hearings, interviews, and court proceedings as needed.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with all deadlines and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and opposing counsel.
- Work collaboratively with paralegals and support staff to ensure timely case processing.
- Stay current on changes in immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
Qualifications
Required
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership and good standing with a U.S. state bar.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing immigration law.
- Fluent bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Strong knowledge of family-based, humanitarian, removal defense, and/or employment-based immigration matters.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Strong client relationship and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and a busy caseload.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred
- Experience handling removal proceedings and immigration court appearances.
- Experience with asylum, VAWA, U visas, T visas, waivers, adjustment of status, naturalization, and family-based petitions.
- Familiarity with immigration case management software.
- Experience supervising paralegals or legal support staff.
