Medical Malpractice Paralegal (44984)Overview $65,000 - $85,000/year North Carolina -- Charlotte Permanent
⚖️ Paralegal | Charlotte, NC (Onsite/Hybrid)
We are proud to partner with a prestigious, regional law firm to identify an experienced Paralegal for their Professional Negligence and Medical Malpractice Defense Practice Group in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Our client is a well-established, highly regarded firm with deep roots across the Southeast.
📍 Location: Charlotte, NC — fully onsite 📅 Schedule: 37.5 hours/week | Occasional overtime as needed
🔹 What You'll Do: • Organize, index, and summarize extensive medical records and billing documentation for complex malpractice cases • Manage case files from initial filing through trial and appeal • Draft client correspondence and assist attorneys with pleadings and discovery documents • Compile and prepare documents for production • Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial dates with clients, witnesses, experts, and court personnel • Provide comprehensive trial support — electronic presentations, exhibit management, and witness coordination • Assist with retaining and preparing expert witnesses throughout the life of a case • Handle electronic filings in State and Federal Court • Support attorneys on medical board matters, subpoena responses, and other legal matters • Conduct investigative research across a variety of resources
🔹 What You'll Need: • 3+ years of litigation experience — insurance defense and/or medical malpractice experience strongly preferred • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience • Paralegal certificate preferred • Nursing or medical background is a plus • Trial experience preferred • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; iManage experience a plus • Experience with legal time and billing systems • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment • Strong communicator who thrives both independently and as part of a collaborative team
