Grants Manager (Temp-to-Perm)

Location: Mostly Remote (6 in-person days/month near Penn Station, NYC)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (35 hrs/week)

Pay: $40/hour 

Salary: $$78,000  

Start: Post background check + 2-week onboarding

Interview Process: 1 video interview + Excel assessment

Overview:

Seeking a Grants Manager to support city/state-funded programs within a mission-driven social services organization. This role partners closely with finance, budget, and program teams to manage grant lifecycles, ensure compliance, and support reporting and audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage NYC/NYS grant portfolios, including budgets, claims, and renewals
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports via funder portals (e.g., HHS Accelerator, Grants Gateway)
  • Monitor contract budgets, program performance, AR, and cash flow
  • Maintain P&L and grant-related balance sheet accounts
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with funder and OMB requirements
  • Analyze financial performance, projections, and provide variance commentary
  • Oversee funding database and maintain accurate grant records
  • Assist with ERP implementation/upgrades and system testing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of grants management experience (NYC/NYS/federal funding required)
  • Strong audit exposure and knowledge of grant reporting standards
  • Advanced Excel skills (modeling, formulas)
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and high attention to detail

Preferred:

  • 3+ years in social services or nonprofit environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar ERP
  • Budgeting/planning systems experience
