Job Description:

Senior Accountant | New York, NY | Hybrid M-F 9am-5pm, 4 days on-site, 1 day remote (Fridays) | Compensation: Up to $90k

About the role

The Senior Accountant will support a fast-paced, growing home textiles company through direct exposure to leadership while helping stabilize and build out a complex operational finance environment. This role spans inventory, treasury, imports, ERP integrations, month-end close, and financial reporting - ideal for someone ready to roll up their sleeves and make an impact.

What you'll actually do

  • Perform account analysis and reconciliations and maintain general ledger accounts
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, supporting schedules, and journal entries
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Support inventory, landed cost, freight, and accrual accounting
  • Reconcile ERP inventory, AP, and financial data, and investigate interface issues
  • Support cash forecasting and availability reporting
  • Improve close documentation, internal controls, and workflow processes
  • Assist with quarterly and annual financial statement reporting

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of accounting experience with strong month-end close and reconciliation skills
  • Inventory accounting experience preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Experience with Blue Cherry ERP or Solomon/Dynamics SL a plus
  • Background in wholesale, import, distribution, or consumer products environments preferred
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working in ambiguity

Environment This role sits inside a newly launched but well-backed home textiles company. The environment is hands-on and evolving - you'll be building structure, not inheriting it. The ideal candidate connects operations to accounting, takes ownership, and thrives in a startup-like setting with direct visibility to leadership.
