Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Property Accountant for a full-time, hybrid role. This position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 with generous benefits including up to 3 weeks of vacation in the first year.

 

Our client is a family office that's been in existence for over 3 generations. They own a generous portfolio of residential and commercial properties across NYC.

 

The Property Accountant will be asked to perform accounting functions & duties for a portfolio of owned, managed, or joint venture commercial properties and shopping centers. The property accountant will be responsible for maintaining the books and records for their property portfolio and monthly reporting for each property.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for quarterly reporting packages including but not limited to property summary overviews, asset and liability analysis, budget vs. actual analysis, mortgage information, leasing updates, capital expenditures
  • Maintaining general ledger accounts and providing monthly account analysis
  • Review and Approve invoices for property
  • Record daily tenant receipts
  • Review cash flows and maintain cash for property list
  • Track and Reconcile tenant security accounts on quarterly basis
  • Maintain mortgage for applicable properties including but not limited to processing monthly payments, tracking escrow balances, lender reporting requirements
  • Assist with annual budget process for each property in conjunction with Property Management and Lease Administration
  • Review and process partner distributions
  • Maintain and track utility accounts for properties including tenant expense accounts, sub-metered accounts, and vacant spaces
  • Monthly Bank Reconciliations

 

Skills:

  • Bachelors in Accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Required
  • Must have knowledge of accounting software. Yardi background preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical & organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills
