We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join a Real Estate Practice for our law firm practice in Orlando. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a sophisticated commercial real estate practice with a team-based approach. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working as a Real Estate Paralegal, with a strong understanding of title and survey processes. A high level of technical expertise and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and review of commercial and residential real estate purchase and sale closing documents.
- Assist with the preparation and review of loan documents, including UCC Financing Statements.
- Coordinate commercial and residential real estate transaction closings, including maintaining closing checklists, preparation and distribution of signature page packages, preparing and reviewing settlement statements, and coordinating with various transaction parties as needed.
- Order and review title and survey, including title exceptions; prepare title and survey objection letters and title/survey memoranda; and prepare escrow closing letters.
- Order and/or collect other due diligence items for sale and loan transactions, including zoning/governmental compliance letters, UCC/judgment searches, entity authority documents, good standing certificates, and estoppel letters from lienholders, tenants, and other parties.
- Order, review, and abstract UCC/judgment/lien search results.
- Obtain and review zoning reports and conduct related zoning analyses.
- Prepare consents, resolutions, and other basic corporate documents.
- Conduct lease reviews and prepare lease abstracts.
- Handle or coordinate filing and recording of documents.
- Prepare closing binders and assist with post-closing matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a law firm, preferably in a real estate or commercial practice.
- Strong title and survey skills.
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in real estate legal practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks under tight deadlines, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills.
- Superior customer service and communication skills, demonstrating courtesy and professionalism.
- Ability to think creatively and contribute to best practices in real estate transactions.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time position.
- Core working hours are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional overtime required.
- Physical attendance and punctuality are required at the workplace.
