Job Summary:

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist with a strong background in collections to join our finance team. This role will focus on managing an aging AR balance, applying payments, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely collections. The ideal candidate has up to five years of experience in AR, is detail-oriented, and can communicate effectively with clients to resolve outstanding balances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collections Management: Proactively follow up on past-due accounts to ensure timely payments.
  • Aging AR Balance: Work through outstanding accounts and implement strategies to improve cash flow.
  • Payment Application: Accurately apply customer payments and resolve discrepancies.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries related to AR transactions.
  • Month-End Closing: Assist in month-end AR reconciliations and reporting.
  • Customer Communication: Contact customers via phone and email to discuss overdue invoices while maintaining positive relationships.
  • System Management: Work within QuickBooks Desktop to manage invoices, payments, and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: 2-5 years in accounts receivable, with a strong focus on collections.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is required.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Experience with journal entries and month-end closing processes.
  • Communication: Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills for handling collections.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to reconcile accounts and ensure accurate payment applications.
