Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of accounting experience in real estate or property management, demonstrating strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyze financial statements for multiple properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes related to property management.

Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for assigned properties.

Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

Prepare and review tenant billings, CAM reconciliations, and lease abstracts.

Collaborate with property managers, asset managers, and external auditors to support financial reporting and tax compliance.

Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in property accounting or real estate accounting.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar property management systems).

Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate financial reporting.

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.

Experience with commercial and/or residential real estate accounting.

Knowledge of lease administration and CAM reconciliations.
