Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Staff Accountant for a full-time, contract role to last for at least 2 months.

Our client is a publicly-traded, international company located in Wayne, NJ.

This role will pay up to $28.00 - $32.00 and would be 40 hours a week.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking more experience in a fast-paced company with an outstanding brand. Candidates must have prior SAP and accounts payable experience to assist with a major backlog/clean up project.

Hours: Mon - Fri (40 hours a week) (5 days on site)

Responsibilities:

• Support cost centers including but not limited to: USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Panama
• Partner with shared services, external BPOs and the Finance team during the monthly and year-end closing
• Integrate and review of local trial balances into the ERP system
• Responsible for the preparation of margin files
• Monthly recurring and not recurring journal entries
• Analysis of monthly activity of certain elements of the PL
• Monthly maintenance of cash tool for LatAm region
• Backup support for financial uploads
• Analyze financial activity throughout the month and processes to identify opportunities for improvement
• Review and approval of expense reports for LatAm Region
• Supports Accounting Manager in partnering with shared services and external BPOs to ensure accuracy and efficiency of processes
• Maintain a clean Trial Balance by ensuring timely completion of balance sheet recs for all business units
• Daily approve of invoices
• Daily approve of inventory stock adjustments
• Supports Sr. Accountant in the monthly variable rent calculation for posterior payment to landlords
• Manage IC activity and end of month billing and reporting to affiliates
• Assist management in the compilation and preparation of support for annual external audit as well group internal audits
• Support management on ad hoc analyses and special projects
• Aid the Controller & Assistant Controller in the monitoring of internal control compliance, SOPs, etc

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
• 1+ years' experience in accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
