Ascendo Resources is proud to partner with a community-based nonprofit in NYC with their search for a Junior Accountant to join their growing team! This is a hybrid role based in Brooklyn with an annual salary of up to $70,000.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Prior experience with DYCD programs and the Passport system is required

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly/quarterly vouchers and maintain reporting schedules
• Review expenses for allowability and reasonableness
• Support audit prep and keep grant portfolios audit-ready
• Assist with budget development and general ledger analysis
• Coordinate with Payroll/AP for voucher data
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile receipts/contributions
• Maintain budget analysis templates
• Manage sub-contractor agreements and invoicing
• Monitor aged receivables
• Respond promptly to funder and colleague inquiries
