Ascendo Resources is looking for a Grant Accountant with prior experience in Billing. Our client is a prominent non-profit located in Brooklyn, NY. We are offering a salary up to $70,000 and a hybrid schedule with full benefits.

 

What You'll be Doing:

The Grant Accountant will handle a variety of financial and administrative tasks, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, receivables collection, and grant/contract expenditure reporting. This role plays a critical part in supporting compliance with grant agreements and promoting the organization’s financial health.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly vouchers for funders
  • Maintain reporting schedules for assigned grants and contracts
  • Review expenses to ensure compliance with funder requirements regarding reasonableness and allowability
  • Assist in audit preparation for both internal and external audits related to grants and contracts
  • Maintain grant portfolios in an audit-ready state
  • Support divisions with budget preparation and analysis
  • Conduct regular general ledger analysis for grant-funded programs
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Accounts Payable departments for voucher preparation
  • Prepare and post necessary journal entries
  • Reconcile cash receipts and client contributions
  • Maintain and update templates for budget-to-actual financial analysis
  • Prepare sub-contractor agreements and process monthly invoices
  • Monitor aged receivables and follow up as needed
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from funders and internal stakeholders
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Who You Are:

  • Accounting Degree, bachelors or associates
  • 1+ years of experience with DYCD (Department of Youth and Community Development)
  • 1+ years of PASSport
