Ascendo Resources is currently working with a company in Coral Gables who is looking for a senior-level professional with public accounting experience and a background in industries such as construction, real estate, or manufacturing/distribution. This position involves tax compliance, consulting, and audit support with a strong emphasis on corporate and partnership taxation. Candidates should either hold a CPA license or be actively pursuing CPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
• Support tax planning and consulting initiatives for business clients
• Oversee portions of audit engagements and coordinate with audit teams
• Supervise, mentor, and review work of junior staff
• Conduct research and analysis on technical tax matters and present findings clearly
• Work directly with clients to gather information, resolve tax issues, and deliver service
• Maintain compliance with applicable tax laws and filing deadlines
• Assist in identifying process improvements and implementing best practices
• Monitor changes in tax regulations and apply them appropriately

Minimum Qualifications

• 3 years or more of recent experience in public accounting
• Actively pursuing CPA designation or currently licensed
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• Strong understanding of corporate and partnership tax compliance
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Proficiency in tax and accounting software
• Experience managing multiple projects and working with deadlines
• Prior experience supervising staff or overseeing engagements

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA license or actively taking exams to get CPA
• Master’s degree in taxation or similar discipline
• Industry exposure to construction, real estate, or manufacturing/distribution
• Strong initiative and a self-directed work ethic
