Senior Accountant

Salary: up to $100,000 + discretionary year-end bonus

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote) – Required onsite during month-end business days 3, 4, and 5

Team: Part of a team of 3 within an 18-person Accounting department

A leading $2B+ automotive replacement parts company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This role replaces a team member who was recently promoted. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with strong month-end close experience and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead components of the 7-day month-end close process
• Manage accounting for debt, interest, swaps, AR, prepaids, and financial statements
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses
• Collaborate with AP, Payroll, FP&A, and Operations
• Assist in audit support and footnote preparation for bank reporting
• Drive process improvements and system implementations
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 3+ years accounting experience; public/private mix preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP; CPA or CPA-eligible a plus
• Advanced Excel skills (large data sets, schedules, reconciliations)
• Experience with Sage 300 and AS/400 a plus
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

• Exposure to ASC 842 lease accounting
• Experience in mid-sized firms
