Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a full-time, hybrid role. This position is offering a salary range up to $95,000 and is hybrid (up to 2 days WFH). The role has amazing benefits including up to 40 days of combined PTO!

Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities. This individual will play a key role in supporting financial operations and ensuring the integrity of accounting records in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and monthly account reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including audit preparation and compliance reporting.
• Process accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate entry of invoices, vendor payments, and proper coding.
• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and reports in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Assist Controller with cleanup and ad hoc tasks, as needed.
• Collaborate with program and operations teams to support financial documentation and audit requests.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Accounting and Finance
• 3+ years of professional accounting experience with a strong foundation in accounting principles and hands-on experience in GL and bank reconciliations, AP, and audits.
• Previous non-profit industry experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
• Experience with Yardi is a plus.
