The Bookkeeper plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and efficiency of accounting operations—especially across a franchise-based hospitality business. This role will collaborate closely with accounting, operations, and management to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with financial protocols.
🧾 Key Responsibilities

Maintain day-to-day financial entries and reconcile general ledger accounts with precision.

Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including timely vendor payments and customer billing.

Perform regular bank and cash reconciliations to verify balances and resolve discrepancies.

Prepare and distribute financial statements and internal reports for management review.

Handle payroll preparation and ensure accurate remittance of taxes, benefits, and filings.

Support budgeting, forecasting activities, and financial analysis to assist decision making.

Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. restaurants, corporate operations) to clarify and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Assist in preparation for internal and external audits; compile and provide documentation as needed.

Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.

Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professional conduct when handling sensitive financial data.
✅ Preferred Qualifications
-
2–5+ years of bookkeeping, general ledger, AR/AP or full-charge experience—preferably in multi-unit or hospitality businesses.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

In-depth understanding of GAAP, payroll processes, and financial documentation.

Strong analytical, organizational, and time management abilities.

Excellent communication skills with an attentiveness to detail and accuracy.

Experience preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and maintaining vendor/customer records.

AIA Bookkeeping certification or associate/bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is a plus.
