Ascendo Resources is partnering with a reputable law firm client on their search for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support their growing office in Jacksonville, FL.
This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a working knowledge of litigation procedures. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing multiple priorities, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting our team both in-office and remotely following the initial training period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery, and correspondence
- File legal documents with state and federal courts (electronic and paper filings)
- Maintain case files, calendars, and deadlines using case management software
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, court appearances, and client communications
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders
- Perform legal research and fact-checking as needed
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors in a professional and timely manner
- Manage attorney time entries and assist with billing processes
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in litigation (Florida litigation experience preferred)
- Familiarity with court rules and e-filing procedures in both state and federal courts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Associate’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience preferred
Schedule and Work Environment:
- In-office during training period (duration based on experience and performance)
- Hybrid schedule available post-training, combining remote work and in-office collaboration
