Ascendo Resources is partnering with a busy and expanding law firm client on their search for an experienced Construction Litigation Paralegal to join its team in Harrisburg, PA.
This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal with a strong litigation background to support a dynamic legal team involved in complex construction matters. The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of relevant experience and a solid understanding of the litigation process from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive support throughout all phases of construction litigation, including investigation, discovery, trial preparation, and appeals.
- Oversee eDiscovery tasks, including data collection, processing, document review, and production in accordance with state and federal procedures.
- Draft and manage legal documents such as pleadings, discovery responses, subpoenas, and related exhibits.
- Conduct document reviews and assist in privilege log creation using platforms such as Relativity or DISCO.
- Organize and maintain electronic case files and litigation databases.
- Coordinate with clients, legal teams, and vendors on litigation holds and data preservation.
- Assist attorneys with deposition and trial preparation, including managing exhibits and transcripts.
- Prepare case chronologies, document summaries, and strategy-related reports.
- Attend trial proceedings when needed and handle related logistical support.
- Act as a liaison for clients, providing timely updates and responses to inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a focus on construction law preferred.
- Strong knowledge of eDiscovery tools and best practices.
- Familiarity with litigation processes, including motions, discovery, and court procedures.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), legal research tools like Westlaw, and litigation support/document management software.
Work Schedule:
- In-office attendance is required five days a week for the first 90 days as part of the onboarding period. After this initial period, the role shifts to a hybrid schedule with four days in-office and one remote day each weekly.
