Location: Miami, FL (On-site)

About the Role

Ascendo is representing an international hospitality powerhouse seeking their next Accounting Manager to oversee operations across the U.S. and LATAM regions. This individual will lead the accounting function, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards, while driving process improvements and delivering actionable financial insights. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with expertise in accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit Leadership: Oversee internal and external audits to ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all accounting policies and regulatory requirements under US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals to ensure high performance and accountability.
  • AP, AR & GL Oversight: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Month-End & Quarter-End Close: Lead and coordinate the close process, including review of journal entries and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Balance Sheet Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support financial planning, forecasting, and provide insights and analytics for decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Streamline AP and AR processes and identify opportunities for accounting process enhancements to increase efficiency.

 

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: 6–7+ years of progressive accounting or finance management experience, preferably in hospitality or a related industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual - English & Spanish required.
  • Proficiency in Excel; ability to adapt quickly to new ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
