Logistics Coordinator – Heavy Haul & Oversized Loads
Job Summary We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to support the planning and execution of heavy haul and oversized load projects. This role is responsible for coordinating drivers, securing carrier capacity, and ensuring safe, compliant, and on-time delivery of specialized shipments. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, knowledge of DOT regulations, and experience handling complex transportation needs.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and dispatch trucks for oversized and heavy haul shipments.

Track and monitor freight from pickup through delivery, providing timely status updates.

Negotiate with carriers to secure competitive rates and reliable service.

Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, permits, and safety requirements for oversized loads.

Maintain strong relationships with carriers and drivers to ensure capacity and service standards.

Update and manage information in the Transportation Management System (TMS).

Troubleshoot and resolve transportation issues quickly and effectively.

Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize shipments and ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills

High school diploma/GED required; degree in Logistics or related field preferred.

2+ years of dispatch, logistics, or transportation coordination experience.

Previous experience with heavy haul or oversized freight preferred.

Knowledge of DOT regulations and multi-state geography.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.

Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds of office supplies/equipment.
