Job Title: Cash Application Specialist
Location: Tampa, FL Department: Finance / Accounts Receivable Reports To: Cash Application Supervisor / AR Manager
Position Summary:
At Signode, the Cash Application Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely application of customer payments. This role requires a detailed understanding of Signode’s products, internal systems, and customer contract structures. The specialist plays a critical role in supporting the company’s accounts receivable process by maintaining payment integrity and collaborating across departments to resolve discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities:

Apply incoming customer payments daily based on bank statements and remittance information.

Track and update documentation for payments with missing remittances.

Identify and clear intercompany payments in collaboration with internal teams.

Process netting entries for cash applications on a monthly basis.

Access and navigate various customer portals (e.g., Ariba, Coupa, Taulia) to retrieve necessary information for accurate cash application.

Interface with internal teams including Collections, Sales, and Customer Service to resolve payment discrepancies such as short pays, deductions, or unapplied funds.

Communicate potential problem accounts to the Collections team promptly and escalate when necessary.

Provide regular updates to management on account status and unresolved issues.

Reconcile daily bank activity and ensure accuracy of accounts receivable records, including research and application of offsets, adjustments, and write-offs.

Pull supporting documentation (e.g., check copies) as needed to validate payment entries.

Ensure all follow-ups and escalations are documented clearly and communicated in writing.
