📅 Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Fully Onsite
💰 Pay Rate: $24.00+/hr
⏳ Term: Temp 3–6 months (1 position may convert to permanent)

About the Role

Ascendo is seeking Junior Accountants to support our client with day-to-day accounting functions. This is an excellent opportunity for detail-oriented professionals to gain hands-on experience in bank reconciliation, cash matching, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank statements to general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Match cash receipts to corresponding payment postings to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Conduct research to investigate and resolve unmatched items, collaborating with internal teams
• Maintain organized, accurate records for reconciliations and cash matching activities
• Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation and cash matching processes for efficiency
• Support ad-hoc projects and accounting assignments as needed
• Participate in designated projects to gain experience in financial analysis or process optimization

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting or finance (internship or 1–3+ years preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance preferred
