Senior Accountant – Healthcare/Retail Industry

Compensation: $80,000 – $88,000 base salary + bonus eligibility

About the Opportunity:

A national healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This position offers exposure to multi-entity accounting, complex reconciliations, and full-cycle financial reporting in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. The role is ideal for professionals with prior healthcare or retail accounting experience who are ready to take on ownership of key financial processes and work cross-functionally with operations and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts with supporting documentation.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets, prepaid, insurance, and intangible schedules.
  • Process and review invoices for payment in accordance with company policy.
  • Support revenue recognition, operating expenses, and capital expenditure entries.
  • Perform month-end close activities, journal entries, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and review ad hoc and recurring financial reports for management and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
  • Assist with audits by providing requested documentation to external auditors.
  • Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies regarding taxes.
  • Support continuous process improvement and system efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4–6+ years of corporate accounting or 3–5+ years of public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred)
  • Proficiency with GAAP, accrual accounting, and general ledger reconciliation
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Experience in healthcare or retail accounting environments

Preferred:

  • CPA or CPA eligibility
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) or similar ERP
  • Multi-site or multi-entity accounting experience
