Position Summary:

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s financial management, including accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supports strategic decision-making, and leads the accounting team in maintaining efficient and compliant financial practices.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Manage all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

  • Coordinate external audits and act as the primary liaison with auditors.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Monitor and report on budget variances and recommend corrective actions.

  • Support management in strategic planning and decision-making through financial analysis.

3. Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.

  • Maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and control.

4. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, and credit facilities.

  • Manage working capital and optimize liquidity.

  • Approve and monitor capital expenditures and expense allocations.

5. Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff; foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial transparency and operational alignment.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).

  • Certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) strongly preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role.

  • Knowledge:

    • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

    • Experience with ERP/accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle).

  • Skills:

    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong leadership and communication abilities.

    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
